Alec Baldwin has been fired.
MSNBC have reportedly made suspension of the 30 Rock star’s new talk show Up Late permanent. According to inside sources, the axe was wielded in part due to poor ratings but mostly as a result of this latest homophobic slur scandal.
The news may not come as a surprise given the bad press Alec’s latest outburst has received.
He himself saw this coming, referring to the possibility in his blog. But we’re sure that doesn’t take the sting away completely. Getting fired always stinks, even when we earn it.
We hope at least Alec will take with him the lesson that things we say in anger are no less hurtful just because they weren’t thought out.
And if you’re going to come into people’s homes every night to talk, you better make sure you watch what you say.
