Well THIS is an innneresting choice we totally didn’t see coming!
Girls star Allison Williams has been chosen to play the high flying title character in NBC Peter Pan Live — and we’re a bit torn up about the choice!
The lady who’s known by most as Marnie Michaels is apparently a classically trained singer, so there’s no doubt she’ll sound great, right?!
NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt had nothing but wondrous things to say about Miz Williams taking on the iconic role:
“We couldn├óΓé¼Γäót be happier that Allison Williams is our Peter Pan. She├óΓé¼Γäós a lovely rising star on the award-winning show Girls ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ where she occasionally shows off her incredible vocal talent ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ and we think she will bring the perfect blend of ├óΓé¼╦£boyish├óΓé¼Γäó vulnerability and bravado to save the day against Christopher Walken├óΓé¼Γäós powerful Captain Hook.”
And Allison even chimed in, sharing her childhood dreams about playing Peter:
“I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about three years old, so this is a dream come true. It├óΓé¼Γäós such an honor to be a part of this adventure, and I├óΓé¼Γäóm very excited to get to work with this extraordinarily talented team. And besides, what could go wrong in a live televised production with simultaneous flying, sword fighting and singing?”
At least she’s a realist! LOLz!
While we’re unsure of NBC’s bold choice (we were still hoping for sprite goddess Kristen Bell) it’s important to know your thoughts on the musical matter!
