Amanda Knox's Murder Case Reopened! Italian Courts Order A Retrial!

amanda knox murder case put on retrial
It looks like Amanda might have an extra chapter to add to her book, as the Italian high court has ordered a retrial on her case.
As a reminder, Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito have been accused of murdering Meredith Kercher while studying abroad in Italy and have already served 4 years in prison.
The two were eventually acquitted and released in 2011 and it looked like the nightmare was finally over. But now the case has been reopened and it’s not exactly clear why.
Amanda was upset to hear the news from her home in Seattle, and released the following statement, saying:

“It was painful to receive the news that the Italian Supreme Court decided to send my case back for revision when the prosecution’s theory of my involvement in Meredith’s murder has been repeatedly revealed to be completely unfounded and unfair.”

We definitely can’t blame her, especially when we found out the disturbing news that there wasn’t any reliable evidence or motive linking her or Raffaele to the murder.
It sounds like Amanda is managing to stay positive, as she went on to say:

“No matter what happens, my family and I will face this continuing legal battle as we always have, confident in the truth and with our heads held high in the face of wrongful accusations and unreasonable adversity.”

We hope that she manages to stay strong through these dark times, but in the meantime it sounds like she has plenty to write about.
