Amanda Knox Murder Conviction Overturned

no title
Amanda Knox is a free woman.
On Friday, the Italian Supreme Court overturned her murder conviction for the 2007 slaying of their roommate, Meredith Kercher.
The conviction of Amanda’ ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito — who was also found guilty of the crime — was also overturned.
Prosecutors argued that Amanda has orchestrated the murder, having Raffaele and a drifter named Rudy Guede hold down her roommate before slashing her throat.

The lurid crime fascinated Italy, the country where it occurred, as well as the roommates’ native U.S. and Britain.
Naturally, Lifetime even made a TV movie out of the case and trial, with Hayden Panetierre starring as Amanda.
In a just-released statement, Amanda said she feels “relieved and grateful.”
She added:

“The knowledge of my innocence has given me strength in the darkest times of this ordeal.”
