But Ryan Murphy delivers some solace, revealing more about the third installment of his FX love child, saying the season will dive back into the past from time to time… but that it’s also going to take place in MULTIPLE CITIES!

With Season 2 as dark and decrepit as cable television will allow, Ryan promises the next chapter will be lighter and more comedic with a whimsical romantic tone.

He touched on it a little bit this season but #3 is gonna be all about GURL POWER. Hell, even if the central monster’s gonna be a woman! Hot damn!

Before we become too gleeful about next year’s possibilities, Ryan also addressed on-screen violence in light of the recent mass shootings, saying:
“It’s certainly something I am thinking about. I do feel that if you├óΓé¼Γäóre going to tell a story with a gun, take a step back and think about it. I think we will talk about it even more now. I know I will.”

It takes a lot of guts to step up to the challenge of finding provocative ways to entertain without offending people. And even though nobody will ever be able to please everyone, there is a way to broaden the horizons by keeping the greater good in mind.
