How very un-Hollywood.
James Durbin bursted on the scene after being one of the contestants on American Idol‘s 10th season.
But, he’s not letting fame get to his head.
He and his fiance Heidi Lowe are planning on having a very low-key wedding. He says:
“I’m so, so in love. It’s going to be a very small wedding. We’re only inviting about 85 people. We’re going cheap. We’re not doing a full-on Hollywood lavish wedding. We’re getting married in the boondock mountains at a community hall. We rented out a tiny tiny little chapel, all exposed red wood. It’s nothing super fancy.”
The couple’s 2-year-old son Hunter (pictured above) will be the ring bearer. Aww, how cute!
He’s also keeping AI close to his heart – James’ fellow AI alums Stefano Langone and Paul McDonald will be his best man and groomsman.
As for the planning, the two seem to have things under control. James says:
“We got our decorations and everything set. We got the cake squared away, and she’s got her dress.
You might find me singing. There are a couple of songs I used to sing to Heidi. Faithfully by Journey and One More Try by George Michael. And she always loves it when I sing Take Hold of the Flame by Queensryche, so we may have to throw that in there as well.”
What a treat!
James better get some rest now because not only is he getting married in the next couple months, but he’s also releasing his debut album Memories of a Beautiful Disaster, which comes out on November 21.
What a great year for James! Congrats!
