American Idol Takes A Back Seat To Glee Next Year!

After the snoozefest that was this season, we’re not surprised!

FOX announced its fall and midseason line-up for next year this morning, and to the surprise of no one, American Idol has now taken a back-seat to the bulldozing success of the smash series Glee!

The singing competition, sans Simon Cowell, will now only have a 90 minute performance episode when it starts up again next January, and merely a 30 minute results show on Wednesday!

Meanwhile, Glee will have NO extended hiatus like it did this past year, and instead will be snagging the much-coveted post-Superbowl spot!

Peter Rice, chairman of FOX, says regarding the changes to Idol:

“We looked at some of the feedback and viewers want us to tighten up the show. And we need spots for our new half-hour comedies, which are a big part of our development this year. There’s no bigger question for the summer. We have to find a judge to replace Simon that has music credibility and provides incredible entertainment value.”

Well, whomever could that be?!

Oh yeah, PEREZ!!

Dooo it!
