Much like Dancing with the Stars, contestants will perform and meet their fate on the same night. Ryan Seacrest talked about it at Jingle Ball, saying:
“[It will be] one night when we get to the final stage, the Top 10, there will be one night of performances and results all in one night. So there won’t be a ├óΓé¼╦£wait ├óΓé¼╦£til tomorrow night.’ There won’t be a ├óΓé¼╦£Coming up, coming up, coming up.’ We are going to put it all into one format in one night. So that will be exciting.”
As for the mentor position, Randy Jackson will be leaving, in case you missed the news, and in his place will be Big Machine Label Group exec Scott Borchetta. The other judges will remain Keith Urban, Harry Connick Jr., and Jennifer Lopez.
So, get your popcorn ready because the new season begins on Wednesday, Jan. 7. at 8 p.m.
