American Pie Actress Talks ‘Inhumane’ Treatment By ICE After Being Held For 12 Days

American Pie Actress Being Held By ICE! This Is SCARY!!!

Jasmine Mooney is finally home after being held by ICE… And she’s still “going through the emotions” of the wild situation.

Last week, we reported the American Pie Presents: The Book of Love actress was detained by ICE after attempting to renew her work visa to stay in the US. For context, she’s a Canadian citizen who made a trip to the San Ysidro, CA border to secure her new visa, as that’s where she previously did it. However, when she attempted to come up through the border, she was detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement amid Donald Trump’s new anti-immigration regime.

She was held without recourse for days before anyone even knew why she’d disappeared. And the way she and everyone else there was treated was “inhumane” — like, inedible food, no blankets, no pillows, being kept up for 24 hours while being transported, and more. You can read about it all HERE.

Her friends and family were extremely concerned over the terrifying situation as they had no clue when she would be released, but she finally made it back to Canadian soil on Saturday. When she arrived at the Vancouver International Airport, CTV News caught up with her to ask about her experience, and she had the following to say:

“I haven’t slept in a while and haven’t eaten proper food in a while, so I’m just really going through the motions … No one told me anything. Not once. I still don’t even know how I’m home. My friends and my family and the media are the reason, I think, that I’m home.”

Yeah, we’d agree. The administration knows a PR disaster when they see one. And a lot of their base never wanted this to happen to pretty white people! Right?

Jasmine said she was “given no heads up of anything that was about to transpire,” adding that even the guards were “very confused” about the situation. And yes, she now regrets reapplying for the visa big time:

“If I knew that that was even a possibility, like even a possibility that that could happen, I would have never, in a million years gone there. I’m telling you, from the second I got there to now, I can’t even process what just happened.”

Wow… How truly terrifying! This is what SO many people go through every day. Jasmine is LUCKY her situation blew up the way that it did… If not, she could have been in custody for MONTHS like so many without voices are.

When she got home, she hopped on Instagram to share more details of her experience with her followers:

“Thank you for all your messages of support. I’m sorry if I haven’t been able to respond to everyone — just got home after what felt like escaping a deeply disturbing psychological experiment. I am beyond grateful for my friends, family, and the media who worked tirelessly to get me out — without them, I’d still be there.”

That’s insane… She continued:

“I wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone. While I was in prison, I began writing an essay about my experience, which I will be sharing soon. I refuse to let what happened break me; instead, I’m choosing to use my voice in the hope that it can help others. Through it all, I met so many incredibly strong and resilient women. The community we built — strangers uniting in a time of pure desperation-gave me profound hope for humanity. I look forward to giving them a voice.”

Such an insane story. We’re happy she’s home now. But we can’t believe we’re living in this country again. And now with students who were legally here being deported because of their political activism? And people being shipped off to a nightmare of a prison in El Salvador with no due process just because they’re suspected of being in gangs? JFC, this isn’t America. Not anymore.
