Awful!!
Doctors have placed Blake Fielder-Civil into a medical coma following an overdose caused by an alcohol and drug binge.
His body is reportedly fighting an infection that resulted from the mixture alcohol, morphine and heroin.
Sarah Aspin, the mother of Blake’s toddler son, found the ex-husband of Amy Winehouse choking on his own vomit days after the one-year anniversary of Amy’s death.
Sarah explains the events leading up to the overdose:
“We’d been so happy last Thursday morning and talked about getting married. Blake had a 1pm appointment with the probation service in Morley, and said he might be late as he was meeting a friend. He’s never really been a drinker, but when he got home with this friend, he was slurring his words and staggering – I thought he was on something. I was very angry because he’d been doing so well. I had to get his shoes and trousers off to help him into bed. [The] next morning I went to get up and heard a horrid scratching and grating breathing sound. I looked round and saw Blake lying there completely grey. His eyes were rolled back and his mouth was locked together.”
So horrible… we’re so sad for you, Sarah!
Doctors say he could end up with permanent brain damage if he wakes up. They also discovered that one of his lungs was failing to function, so they’ve had to place a tube down his throat to pump oxygen through his body.
He and his family are in our thoughts.
