MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell Announces Breast Cancer Diagnosis

MSNBC host and NBC’s chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell reported some troubling personal news this week.

The 64-year-old journalist shared with her viewers at the end of Andrea Mitchell Reports that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Fortunately, doctors caught the cancer early during an annual screening and had not spread.

While her prognosis is “terrific”, she emphasized the importance of attending regular check ups, saying:

“I├óΓé¼Γäóm looking at this as another of life├óΓé¼Γäós lessons. For you women out there and for the men who love you, screening matters. Do it.”
