Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, has been arrested!
On Thursday, the morning of his 66th birthday, police showed up to his home on King Charles III‘s Sandringham estate in Norfolk, where Andrew has been staying since he was kicked out of the Royal Lodge. According to the BBC, he was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
Police have been investigating the former Duke of York ever since his ties to Jeffrey Epstein were yet again exposed in the Epstein files drop. The father of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie was accused of sharing confidential information with the sex offender while he was a trade envoy for the UK.

Andrew served as UK’s special representative for international trade and investment from 2001 to 2011. The role is meant to promote British interests abroad, but those in the role are meant to keep things completely confidential, even after their term ends. But in emails released by the Department of Justice on January 30, it appeared Andrew may have shared confidential docs with Epstein relating to the role. The complaint was brought forward by the anti-monarchy group Republic, who accused Andrew of “suspected misconduct in public office and breach of official secrets,” per the BBC.
In a statement, the Thames Valley Police confirmed an arrest, but would not identify who they had taken into custody, simply saying:
“As part of the investigation, we have today (19/2) arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and are carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk.”
According to NBC News, this carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment in the United Kingdom. OMG!
The police added:
“The man remains in police custody at this time.”
The arrest comes right after a Radar Online report that the disgraced former royal was “almost 100% set to flee Britain” amid the police investigation. Previously, Andrew has denied any wrongdoing regarding his ties to Epstein, but that didn’t stop Charles from stripping him of his royal titles last year.
