He’s got chutzpah, we’ll give him that!
Speaking with TimeOut recently, super stud Andrew Garfield surprised us all by setting the record straight in regards to his Marvel character’s religious affiliation!
Apparently Spider-Man is Jewish!!!
The A-list actor schmoozed:
“Spider-man is neurotic. Peter Parker is not a simple dude. He can’t just switch off. He never feels like he’s doing enough. And Peter suffers from self-doubt. He ums and ahs about his future because he’s neurotic. He’s Jewish. It’s a defining feature.”
Oy gevalt! We’d hardly call it his defining feature — which is, obviously, his super firm tuches — but we admire his candor nevertheless!!!
Most big-budget blockbuster stars might be afraid to make potential moviegoers fermisht by even mentioning religion, but not AG! Clearly Spidey’s moyle didn’t cut off his great big matzah balls!
Before anyone throws a tantrum about the 30-year-old actor leaning on a totally un-kosher stereotype, Andrew wants to remind us that his words come from a place of endearment.
He continued his spiel:
“I hope Jewish people won’t mind the cliché, because my father’s Jewish. I have that in me for sure. He’s an over-thinker. It would be much easier if he was a life-saving robot.”
He then went on point out similarities between his Spider-Man and Jesus! Wow! Jesus? We hope he isn’t crucified for drawing those comparisons!
“He is misunderstood , like Jesus. I don├óΓé¼Γäót mind the Jesus parallel for Spider-man. Jesus is an awesome guy. When Pontius Pilate said: ├óΓé¼╦£They say you├óΓé¼Γäóre the son of God. If you├óΓé¼Γäóre the son of God tell me.├óΓé¼Γäó Jesus was like: ├óΓé¼╦£I know who I am, bitch.├óΓé¼Γäó”
Dayum!
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings into theaters on May 2nd.
