Actress Angelina Jolie has been caught up in pre-wedded bliss ever since the announcement of her engagement to Brad Pitt, and already, it looks like the gifts are pouring in!
The U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced today that Angie has now been named a special envoy for the organization!
After committing over a decade-worth of time as a goodwill ambassador, Angie will now voluntarily be taking on a diplomatic role, serving as the UNHCR’s representation.
Damn, gurl!!!
UNHCR spokesman Adrian Edwards said:
“In her new role, she is expected to focus on large-scale crises resulting in the mass displacement of people. I don’t think you need a rocket scientist to see the benefits that she is bringing in terms of the attention that she is getting for the plight of the world’s displaced.”
It├óΓé¼Γäós really so great what Angelina has been doing for these causes over the years…traveling all over the globe, including Haiti, Iraq and Pakistan, donating time and effort to helping refugees!!
We love seeing celebrities (and everyday people) doing good for the world!
