Angelina Jolie is such an amazingly wonderful, strong woman!!
We can’t imagine what courage it took to get a preventative double mastectomy.
We also can’t imagine the strength it took to share her story in an incredibly public forum in the form of an op-ed in the New York Times.
She recently detailed how, even though she set out to help other women, it was those very women that helped her.
She revealed:
“I├óΓé¼Γäóm very happy I made the decision. I was very fortunate to have great doctors and very, very fortunate to have a good recovery and have a project like Unbroken to have something to be really focused on, to be getting healthy for, and to be able to just get right back to work.
I feel very, very close ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ much closer ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ to other women, and women who are going through the same thing. Wherever I go, usually I run into women and we talk about health issues, women├óΓé¼Γäós issues, breast cancer, ovarian cancer. I├óΓé¼Γäóve talked to men about their daughters├óΓé¼Γäó and wives├óΓé¼Γäó health. It makes me feel closer to other people who deal with the same things and have either lost their parents or are considering surgeries or wondering about their children. ├óΓé¼┬ª The reason that I wrote it was to try to communicate and help and connect with other women and other families going through the same thing. And ├óΓé¼┬ª I was very, very moved by all the support and kindness from so many people.”
But, she also opened up about another health scare, revealing”
“There├óΓé¼Γäós still another surgery to have, which I haven├óΓé¼Γäót yet [Jolie is also genetically at risk for ovarian cancer, which is what took her mother├óΓé¼Γäós life at age 56]. I├óΓé¼Γäóll, you know, I├óΓé¼Γäóll get advice from all these wonderful people who I├óΓé¼Γäóve been talking to, to get through that next stage.”
What a strong, strong woman. THIS is why Angie makes the perfect woman – for who she is inside and the courage she shows.
Way to help women everywhere!!
