Angus Cloud's Mom Reacts After Euphoria Finale Honors Him Following His Tragic Death

Angus Cloud‘s mom is reacting to the last tribute to her son in Euphoria.

If you watched the final episode on Sunday, you know that Rue Bennett (Zendaya) injures herself during a botched heist and is offered painkillers by drug lord Alamo Brown (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). Unaware that he’s laced them with fentanyl as revenge for working with the DEA, she takes the bottle. But while resting on the couch of her sponsor Ali Muhammed (Colman Domingo), Rue sees on the TV that her friend Fezco (Angus, who died of an overdose in 2023) escapes prison. She then races over to his old convenience store, and it flashes back to a memory of the pair with their arms wrapped around each other in the middle of a field. See it (below):

Eventually, we all find out Rue is hallucinating everything as she is suffering an accidental overdose and dying. Ali then finds her dead. Oof. Sam Levinson used never-before-seen archival footage from Season 1 to achieve that heartbreaking moment between Rue and Fez, and Lisa Cloud appreciates how the creator took a second to honor her late son at the end. She told TMZ:

“The massive public emotional outpouring on social media honoring my beloved son’s beautiful soul says everything.”

Lisa said she found out with the rest of the world about the scene, but she also had a feeling Sam would use the old footage at some point. She ultimately thought he did a beautiful job of showing Rue crossing to the other side, as well as paying tribute to Angus.

We’re glad Lisa got to see her son in Euphoria one last time. He had been a beloved actor, and he’s dearly missed. What are your reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments (below).
