Forget about those bright-red boxes filled with animal crackers. The iconic box featuring a circus-train design has gotten a fashionable makeover courtesy of Lilly Pulitzer.
The Barnum’s Animals cracker boxes have been given that classic Pulitzer look, featuring a sketch style design in mainly yellow, pink, and green.
But the makeover is actually for a good cause!
Kraft Foods, the parent company of Nabisco’s animal crackers, is a supporter of tiger conservation in Sumatra through the World Wildlife Fund.
And with 2010 being the Year of the Tiger, Nabisco will donate $100,000 to the World Wildlife Fund in order to help protect the wild animals.
According to Janie Schoenborn, fashion director of Lilly Pulitzer:
“Lilly Pulitzer has never repeated a print in 50 years, with designs often inspired by tigers, gators and other endangered species. It was truly rewarding to create a product that gives back!”
But if you’d like to own your own special edition of the box, you better hurry as only one million of them are being produced.
