Anna Wintour Defends The Kimye Vogue Cover & Kendall Jenner's Estée Lauder Contract! Read Her Words HERE!

Anna Wintour
finally speaks out about the infamous Kimye cover!
We didn’t think this day would ever come!
During an interview with former CNN journalist Alina Cho at the Met on Monday night, Vogue‘s editor-in-chief got pretty candid about why she put Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on the April 2014 cover of her magazine.
And why it was a good idea!
She said:

“I see the role of Vogue to reflect what’s going on in the culture. The first celebrity that I put on the cover of Vogue was Madonna, and that was considered completely controversial at the time, too. It’s such a long time ago probably no one remembers, but she was a very controversial figure. Now she’s part of the establishment. I think if we just remain deeply tasteful and just put deeply tasteful people on the cover, it would be a rather boring magazine! Nobody would talk about us. It’s very important that people do talk about us.”

Well, we can’t really argue that logic. It wouldn’t be great for Vogue if nobody paid attention to it!
(Um, and did she just basically say that Kimye are not “deeply tasteful”? LOLz!)
But, wait, there’s more!
La Wintour even mentions Kendall Jenner and praises her as the new face of Estée Lauder, saying:

“Going back to Est├â┬⌐e Lauder’s decision to make Kendall Jenner the face of Est├â┬⌐e Lauder. What a fantastic decision that was! They have a wonderful brand that’s very traditionally American, and they decided they want to shake it up and reach a different audience. Now and again one has to do things like that. I think it’s part of the excitement and part of being a journalist. I hope another Kim Kardashian comes along this year!”

Um, Kendall just might be the new Kim! Well, a less ostentatious version of Kimmy, anyway.

Whether Anna only likes the Kardashian-West-Jenner clan because they’re popular or not, it’s clear that she’s eager to continue associating them with the Vogue brand.
Kendall DID just land a thirteen-page spread in the December issue after all!
Maybe Kylie Jenner will pop up in the magazine next?
Or maybe Kendall will snag her own cover???
The possibilities are endless!
