Anna Wintour is not new to the art of throwing shade, that’s for sure!
So when Vogue‘s editor-in-chief slammed the Tony Awards‘ red carpet last year, they took it seriously.
In fact, they reportedly asked the headline-making fashionista to help bring more viewers by vamping up this year’s show!
At the supposed cost of “more than half a million” dollars.
That’s some serious money!
But according to a source, not everyone is totally on board with Anna’s direction, saying:
“There is a divide between the forward-thinking, modern members of the Tonys and the old guard, which has been resistant to Hollywood and fashion intervening. But Anna wants to edit it, and curate it, to make the awards really glamorous and help to get more viewers.”
Yikes! Though another source revealed:
“I’ve only heard enthusiasm about the idea of the upped glamour quotient. But, in the theater world, everyone is always pissed about something!”
Which is it then??
Sigh. Guess we’ll have to wait and see June 7 when the show airs!!
