The fashionista went on the TODAY Show on Thursday to open up about her precious partnership with the 26-year-old, saying:
“I’m thrilled that [the cover girl is] Taylor Swift, who’s my co-chair this year at the Met Gala.”
We wonder if this continued collaboration is the reason why TayTay adopted an Anna-esque bob! LOL! Buuuuut we digress.
The 66-year-old explained on the morning show why she went with this AH-mazing aesthetic for Swifty’s cover, dishing:
“We very much wanted to give Taylor a new look, make her into a sort of rock-and-roll chick. We were also very aware that the rumors circulating at the time that Hedi Slimane, the great designer for Yves Saint Laurent, might be stepping down from his post so we wanted to do an homage to Hedi on the cover.”
And she couldn’t contain her excitement over the anticipation of what her co-chair is going to wear to this year’s Met Gala, adding:
“We love the way she looks. We think she looks young and modern and different and I can’t wait to see what she’s going to wear on May 2!”
We can’t wait, either!
If you’re dying to know the one fashion trend Anna would like to banish forever, whether or not she’s ever taken a selfie, or more about her Met Gala documentary, The First Monday in May, ch-ch-check out the interview (below)!
