Anne Hathaway disappeared from the spotlight after her Oscar win because she felt like people wanted a break from her.
But now she’s back on the cover of Elle UK looking fierce and getting honest!
Few people can relate to the quick success with fame she had as she swept the award season when she starred in Les Miserables, but from what it was like for her, it sounds like those who can’t relate are damn lucky.

Anne admitted that she got lost in her own fame:
“This fame thing? F–ked me up for a really long time. I didn’t know how to do it; I didn’t know how to engage with it; it stressed me out. And people would say, ‘You just have to be yourself,’ and I was like, ‘But I don’t know who that is yet!'”
Maybe that’s why fans weren’t always so keen on her? Perhaps they just weren’t seeing who she really is?
But now that she’s taken a break from fame and the spotlight, Anne is back and ready to be herself, whether you like it or not:
“I’ve realized that don’t need validation from anybody. At all. I’m not sitting here now worrying, ‘What do you think of me?’ With all due respect, you seem like a lovely lady, but I don’t need you, or anyone else, to like me. And that’s so liberating. It’s a big reveal, man.”
