Pete Doherty and his former bandmate, Carl Barat, are getting back together…to work on a musical!
Sorry, Libertines fans, they’re not quite ready to reunite in that way!
London’s Donmar Warehouse theatre commissioned the musical, which is, at the moment, expected to prem in early 2009.
Doperty and his old music partner are supposed to start work on the musical next week at Pete’s drug den home.
Barat expects that they’ll write 20 new songs for the musical, which will be about the dramz surrounding an up-and-coming band.
And, will the ‘fictional’ band in the musical be torn apart due to the severe drug abuse of one of its members?
