We knew the hi-tech iPhone 5S would be popular- but dayum!
Apple has found sales of the next step in smart phone technology to be golden delicious- they’ve already sold over NINE MILLION units in the first weekend alone! And a lot of that was in the first 30 minutes!
CEO Tim Cook couldn’t be happier with the launch. He says:
“This is our best iPhone launch yet — more than 9 million new iPhones sold — a new record for first weekend sales. The demand for the new iPhones has been incredible. And while we├óΓé¼Γäóve sold out of our initial supply of iPhone 5S’s, stores continue to receive new iPhone shipments regularly. We appreciate everyone├óΓé¼Γäós patience and are working hard to build enough new iPhones for everyone.”
What was the previous record? The iPhone 5 launched with only 5 million units sold. That’s an increase of 80% over last year’s debut!
It wasn’t just a surprise to us- Wall Street analysts expected 5-8 million, so they were caught off guard by the success as well! Apple’s stock rose 6% before the market even opened!
They should change their name to Green Apple! LOLz!
