This is quite the danger zone.
With all the pure awfulness brought about by the real life ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), one show has had to make a tough decision.

FX’s Archer previously featured the spy agency also by the same name ISIS, although on the show, it has always been an acronym for International Secret Intelligence Service.
However, in light of recent atrocities perpetrated by real life jihadist ISIS, the show’s creator Adam Reed explained that certain permanent changes had to be made:
“We quietly did. We were waiting for it to go away├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥at least I was. Back in Season 5, FX said, ├óΓé¼╦£This might be a thing,’ and I thought, ├óΓé¼╦£Maybe it won’t be? Maybe it’ll be the mole that I’m gonna ignore and nothing will happen.’ We got sort of lucky and could organically make a merger with the CIA, so we went back and retroactively painted out the ISIS logos in parts of the show, and we just don’t talk about it in dialogue…I gave my Dad one of the ISIS hats and he said, ├óΓé¼╦£You know son, I’m not going to be able to wear the hat anymore. I’m gettin’ looks at the hardware store.’…I was at a meeting with the FX execs and I said, ├óΓé¼╦£You know, with all this extra ISIS merchandise, you should just make the bad guys buy it.’ Dead silence. And then they said, ├óΓé¼╦£We have a lot of ISIS merchandise.’ So I guess that’s all going to a landfill somewhere.”
We think this was a tough decision to make, but that Adam and other execs did the right thing.
