Artie Lange Has Been BANNED From ESPN After His Awful & Offensive Series Of Tweets About Cari Champion!

This isn’t too surprising.
Artie Lange‘s past 24 hours have been rightfully brutal, and it has all culminated in major hits to his career. That’s what happens when you send out racially charged and disturbing Tweets.
Artie had originally tweeted a whole bunch of gross sexual fantasy stuff about ESPN host Cari Champion, and now he’s feeling the backlash.

Artie refused to offer a proper apology, and he subsequently lost one of his gigs on the show @Midnight. And it turns out that wasn’t the only repercussion: ESPN has straight up BANNED Artie from appearing on their network in the future, as the sports network officially announced “there will be no future bookings” for Artie on their shows!
Artie has gone back on Twitter and it’s clear he’s taking all of this a lot more seriously now that the fallout has begun.
In a series of tweets he wrote:

“If u ppl protesting me end my career what have u accomplished?! Did u get a racist misogynist politician who does real harm?!…No. U got a comedian who’s done tons of charity work benefiting all ppl of all kinds Cuz of a few stupid jokes. Congrats. Great day guys!”

But then Artie did seem to apologize when he wrote:

“Ok guys just talked to a black woman who’s a new friend of mine. She told me some of my “fans” threatened her life today…I’ve gotta take that seriously. So my apologies extend to bigger group of ppl. If that’s true and it is cuz she’s no liar I have to think…I have to take jokes like the ones I made more seriously. Cuz I want no part of that awful bullshit. Not what I’m about….I’m sorry to whoever was hurt by the tweets. I will keep some jokes to myself. It’s a different world. Thx guys and thx to my new friend Pia…I hate that we have to cater to idiots but the thought of some woman scared for her well being cuz of a joke is something I can’t stand”

Well, that’s better than what he said yesterday we guess.
We hope Artie won’t ever make that kind of mistake again — people CAN change, and he’s got a journey ahead of him. Plus it’s up to Cari and only Cari if she wants to choose to forgive him.
We wouldn’t blame her though if she didn’t, though. We can’t believe half the stuff he said!
So, we’ll see!
