Furniture Chain Loses $1.5 Million After Taking A Gamble On An Ohio State Football Promotion!

They rolled the dice and they lost… or did they???
Furniture chain Ashley Furniture HomeStores and Better Sleep Shops started a promotion from December 17th – 30th stating that if the Ohio State Buckeyes won the College Football championship (against Oregon by more than 7 points), anyone who bought merchandise of $1,999 or more could write it off!

Well… they won! And the participating stores in Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton and Florence, Ky. ended up giving away $1.5 million worth of merchandise!
Rob Klaben, the vice president of their parent company Morris Home Furnishings, talked about the promotion, saying:

“We did work with a third-party company that underwrote the promotion. So we’re excited to see a win.”

And there are lots of people out there who are happy to see a win too! Enjoy you’re mattresses and recliners, people! Today, we are all Buckeyes! LOLz!
