Ashley Madison has been making headlines ever since it was hacked, exposing the identities of users who had active accounts on the infidelity website — most notably Josh Duggar.
Though the hack isn’t bad news for everyone — especially the team pitching a TV show to networks based on the scandalous site!
OutEast Entertainment partners Steven Marrs and Courtney Hazlett are producing the pilot for consideration — with the working title Thank You Ashley Madison, written by Justified‘s Jennifer Kennedy and Ian MacDonald!

Even though the controversial site was founded by Noel Biderman back in 2001, Hazlett explained that centering the story around a man seemed “stereotypical,” so the project will focus on a good mother who launches the business to support her family!
Hazlett says that the show aims to approach adultery in a different way, explaining:
“There are a lot of TV shows doing a great job of presenting marriage storylines in new ways, but what we’re positing here is, what if there is a third lane to run in and what if you were honest about it? What if you didn’t need a hack to have this conversation? Maybe this is where your life just is, and no shows on television are offering that.”
This concept could make for a great, edgy show — like the next Weeds!
Hazlett added that the hack will definitely be explored in some way, continuing:
“Anytime 30 million people are doing anything, it becomes worthy of a real discussion.”
