Aubrey Plaza is reacting to the sudden and tragic death of her husband, filmmaker Jeff Baena.
On Monday, per Deadline and others, the actress and producer, along with other family members, released this statement to the media:
“This is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time.”
So sad. We continue to send our condolences during this horribly devastating time.
According to law enforcement officials, the 47-year-old director’s body was discovered by an assistant at a Los Angeles residence on Friday. It was determined he died by suicide. Horrible…
He and the 40-year-old Parks and Rec actress had been together for 14 years after meeting in 2011. They married in 2021, in beautifully unconventional fashion, as Aubrey explained to Ellen DeGeneres in 2022 on The Ellen Show (watch below):
While they largely kept things private, fans were always delighted to learn about their love whenever they felt it right to share — social media snaps, little interview tidbits, etc. Our heart is absolutely shattered for her.
