There’s a BIG new plot rumor about the end of Avengers: Age Of Ultron, and it could be a heartbreaker!
We’ll try to avoid any real spoilers, but word is that the ONLY member of 2012’s Avengers lineup that is for sure returning will be Chris Evans!
According to Badass Digest, the sequel’s denouement is all about setting up the next team of Avengers for the third installment. An ALL NEW team!
That means Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Mark Ruffalo probably won’t be returning for Avengers 3!
From what we hear, one or two may not even SURVIVE the movie!
But who could replace such a major constellation of movie stars??
In the comics, the second lineup of Marvel’s premiere superhero team was a strange one. Known generally as Cap’s Kooky Quartet, it consisted only of Captain America, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver.
We’re guessing right off that this new team will be a bit stronger than that.
Here are the most likely candidates:
The Falcon
We’ve already heard that Anthony Mackie will appear in the movie, and as Cap’s friend he seems an obvious choice to recruit.
Captain Marvel
Super-powered air force officer Carol Danvers is probably the character with the most fan demand for a movie; though we hear Marvel is unsure whether they want to introduce such a big character with just a small end-of-the-film cameo.
Ant-Man
Just look at that face and tell Paul Rudd he isn’t Avengers material.
Wasp
She’s a founding member of the team in the comics, and it looks like they’ve already found an actress to play her!
Sif
In Marvel Comics, Captain America eventually recruits an Asgardian warrior named Valkyrie to join one of his Avengers teams. It would make sense for Sif, who we already know as Jaimie Alexander from the Thor films, to fulfill that role.
