By knocking Twilight‘s New Moon off its $73 million seat, The Avengers now sits high in the #2 spot for best opening day at the box office! …with $80.5 million! Woo Hoo!!
The weekend total is now estimated to be $150 million through Sunday, securing the blockbuster’s spot in the kingdom of baddest opening weekends ever!
That doesn’t surprise us, of course. We knew it was blowing up when we found out it even beat The Dark Knight‘s midnight numbers!!
But don’t think it’s all about the money, honey!! Oooh NO! Moviegoers everywhere are RAVING about the film!!
And they totally should be!! With all that action and hot men!?! DUH!!!
