Awww!
Aziz Ansari‘s Master Of None has been a HUGE success since its debut last week!
However, it appears the thing that shocked the comedian the most from this whole experience is the new found respect he’s discovered for his father Shoukath Ansari.
In case you forgot, the 32-year-old had his own parents play his fictional parents for his semi-autobiographical Netflix show — and it was actually perfect!

On Wednesday, the Parks and Recreation alum took to Instagram to post a touching tribute to his father after the two appeared on Stephen Colbert‘s The Late Show.
He shared:
Tissues, anyone?!
Still it was such a risky decision to cast his real life momma and poppa for his new show. Hey, big risks equal big rewards!
In a recent interview, Aziz noted:
“I think when you’re trying to get someone who’s a non-actor to do these things, the tricky part is teaching them to stop trying and to be very natural and not try to be funny. They picked up pretty fast.”
Well that’s good to hear. Snaps go out to the ENTIRE Ansari family!
