Your digital footprint is all the proof of your existence online.
Any time you post photos of yourself or put your name on something online, it gets a little bigger. The size of your footprint- which includes your Facebook page, Twitter handle, Instagram photos, etc.- is mostly up to you.
Unless you’re a baby!
According to a study by AVG Technologies, a whopping 92% of children under the age of two already have a digital footprint!
They’re on social media before they can even walk and talk!
Thanks to their proud parents posting nonstop pics of their first steps, first bites, first diapers- Unfollow, BTW! – children can’t escape the Internet!
In fact, by nine years old, about half of children are using social media on a regular basis- and sadly 13% have already been cyberbullied!
So make sure to talk to your kids about the dangers of being online early! Because by the time they understand your words, they’re already there.
