Baby Holding Rifle Facebook Picture Ignites A Ton Of Backlash For Perpetrating Father!

Seriously? Why?
A Connecticut father who posted a photograph of his six-month-old daughter holding a bolt-action rifle is facing a ton of heat for making his daughter pack heat, and it seems his critics are only gaining ammunition against him!
Christopher Duffy told a local news station that he snapped the photograph of his daughter Genevieve holding the rifle at Woodbridge Firearms Trading Post in Woodbridge, Connecticut. But when the store reposted the image on their Facebook page – many, many people took offense…which confuses the father.
He said:

├óΓé¼┼ôOther people being upset about it? I don├óΓé¼Γäót force their kids to do anything. I don├óΓé¼Γäót force them to do anything. My hand was on it, the bolt was open, it was safety checked.”

However, the store quickly took down the photograph, and released the following statement:

“Thanks to all the new supporters that liked our page. Pics have been taken down because the families asked them to be removed. We support teaching young people to shoot and would NEVER put anyone’s life at risk. Feel free to share photos and comments. If I post something and it offends you… don’t cry to me. Call your mom.”

The fact that the store where all of this happened is only 20 miles away from Newtown, Connecticut is another sign that no one involved with this fiasco was thinking too clearly about this when the picture was taken AND posted.
The juxtaposition of a baby unknowingly holding a lethal firearm is just way too disturbing for us personally.
But, hey, maybe we’re alone on that point. Doesn’t sound like the father or the store regret their controversial actions one bit.
