Blank Park Zoo keepers have taken over care for newborn baby Japanese Macaque as her mama is neglecting her.
Staffers are bottle feeding the cutie every two hours and will nurse her until she is weaned and ready to join the other macaques.
Director of animal care and conservation explains why the babe is getting no love from mom:
This is a positive step forward for the Japanese macaque breeding program, but we can’t call it a success until the mothers learn how to care for their young.
None of our females of breeding age have raised a baby before so that is why keepers had to intervene.
Japanese macaques are SUPER endangered as 5000 of these aDORbale monkeys are poached a year.
DESPITE being protected by the Japanese government.
But why hunt this beautiful creature?!?!?!
