Budding country music singer and The Bachelorette star Jed Wyatt is speaking out following shocking claims he had a serious girlfriend before joining the show.
The 25-year-old crooner is currently still in the running for Hannah Brown‘s final rose, but it’s been difficult for Bachelor Nation to watch their love story play out as his relationship drama gets juicier by the minute IRL.
Many fans of the show have taken to social media and expressed their disgust with the frontrunner over his ex-girlfriend Hayley Stevens‘s claims; the Nashville native asserts they dated for four months before he went on the series to date Miz Brown… and he reportedly planned to get back with Stevens after filming.
But according to Wyatt, fans have taken their frustrations way too far!

In a new Instagram post shared on Monday, Wyatt wrote he and his family have received “threatening” letters and phone calls in the wake of the drama and asked viewers of the show to “reserve judgement” until he’s allowed to properly respond to the allegations.
Quick note: contestants aren’t allowed to do interviews or any sort of press while they’re still in the running on-air, so this unofficial statement is about all we’ll get until the finale airs in a few short weeks on ABC.
He paired the sweet, family photo (above) with this lengthy caption (below):
“Hi y’all. Several of you have reached out with messages and questions. Please know I’m not able to answer right now, but as soon as I’m able to, I will. •Until then, I ask that you please understand how much the actions being taken towards myself, my family, the men on the show, and above all, Hannah, are affecting all of our mental and physical health. •It goes beyond what is said online. Threatening letters and phone calls have been sent to our homes. My parents and sister are being verbally attacked in public. I beg you to remember what seems like a harmless action is damaging to real people. •I want to thank all of you who have reached out or reserved judgement until I am able to speak openly and I can only ask for your patience and kindness until then.”
Oof. Sounds like a very difficult situation to be in for all parties involved.
This all comes on the heels of Monday night’s intense episode, where the former beauty pageant queen visited the hometowns of her remaining suitors, including Tyler Cameron, Luke Parker, Peter Weber, and Wyatt.
This season’s other controversial contestant, Luke, had been the source of the drama all season long and viewers expected his family visit to provide the most inneresting TV of the night.
They were so, so wrong!
It turns out Jed’s family had the most revealing reactions to meeting the Alabama native for the first time.
It was almost impossible to ignore the Wyatt family’s reservations about Hannah. In fact, they all seemed pretty shocked to see Jed arrive with Miz Brown and listen to their conversations about marriage later down the line. Which in hindsight, is probably because the guy must have brought Stevens home not too long ago, too.
His mother Gina‘s reaction in her on-camera interview really said it all:
“It doesn’t feel very realistic to me. I’m surprised, to be honest. I am… This is the first I’ve seen of her… I think this is crazy.
To see him considering is a little surprising.”
And Jed’s sister straight up told Hannah that music (and his other, secret girlfriend) is her brother’s number one priority:
“I’m very protective over Jed, and making music makes him so happy, and him potentially falling in love with you, I’m not sure it’s a good thing.”
Oof. With all the added context, this all just sounds… incredibly awkward.
With him still in the running, we’ll just have to wait a little longer and see what Jed has to say after the final rose is dished out! It’ll be especially shocking if he ends up being the winner, too!
