The Estee Lauder-owned brand Prescriptives is closing shop.

Citing poor sales, Fabrizio Freda, Estee Lauder president and CEO, says, “Ultimately this action allows us to focus on those areas which we expect to benefit the company, our shareholders, and business partners.”

Founded in 1979, the luxe cosmetic line was known for its custom products, specifically foundation and lip color, as well as its high-end skincare.

The only good news is that fans of the brand’s popular fragrance, Calyx, are in luck: this is the only Prescriptives product that will continue to be sold after everything else is shut down.

Otherwise, the brand will continue to sell through January 31, 2010 or until supplies last. After Jan 31, it’s kaput.

Better stock up now!
