BAFTAs Upset, The Hurt Locker Beats Avatar!

Wow!

Kathryn Bigelow‘s The Hurt Locker swept the BAFTAs yesterday winning best film, best director, best original screenplay, best cinematography, best sound and best editing!

As for Avatar, the movie won both the special visual effects and production design categories.

Kathryn said during her speech for Best Director:

“I think the secret to directing is collaboration, and I was so lucky to have an incredible cast and crew. This is deeply moving — we all felt an incredible responsibility to honor the courage of the men and women in the field.”

Other winners of the night included Colin Firth in A Single Man for best actor, Carey Mulligan in An Education for best actress, Christoph Waltz in Inglourious Basterds for best supporting actor and Mo’Nique in Precious for best supporting actress.

Oh yeah, and Kristen Stewart was named the Orange Rising Star. WTF?!

Congrats to all the winners…even K-Stew!
