Bale Bailed on W.

With the release of Oliver Stone‘s George W. Bush biopic, W., on the horizon, the director recently admitted that Josh Brolin, who plays the 43rd President, was not his first choice.

In fact, the production first threw a bunch of money at Christian Bale, with whom Stone worked on some “rigorous prosthetic tests” for the role.

In the end, however, Bale bailed, saying he just didn’t feel like he could do it.

But Stone doesn’t mind his second choice. “I met Josh and liked him. He was more rural Americana. But man, he was scared [bleep]less.”

Does Christian Bale know something we don’t?

Like just how bad the movie is going to be?
