As we mentioned earlier, President-elect Barack Obama gave an hour-long interview to 60 Minutes on Sunday night, where he chatted about the economy and what he would do as President.
Well, the numbers have just come in and Barack’s first televised interview post-election gave 60 Minutes its largest ratings in the past nine years!
The interview special was viewed by over 24.5 million people with a 6.4 preliminary adults 18-49 rating.
And, the interview had something to please everyone, with questions ranging from politics to his personal life.
The first 15 minute segment dealt with a series of questions from correspondent Steve Kroft to Obama.
The following two segments included Barack and his wife, Michelle Obama, discussing together different topics, such as how the election has affected their family life.
Barack spoke about his plan to pull the troops out of Iraq, though he didn’t disclose any information regarding his new cabinet choices.
Kroft even asked about the family’s plan to get a new dog.
And considering that the numbers coming in are just preliminary numbers, execs at CBS think they’ll get even higher ratings tomorrow when the nationals are released.
