Here’s something both Barack Obama and Mitt Romney can agree on.
Hurricane Sandy has devastated parts of the East Coast and the Red Cross needs all the donations it can get for disaster relief! The politicians are calling on every American to help support the cause and have tweeted:

The President took the next step by visiting the organization’s headquarters in Washington, DC on Tuesday and warned that “the storm is not yet over.”
Regardless of any more damage that may be on the way though, he wants anyone affected by Sandy to know that help is on the way and stated:
“America’s with you. We are standing behind you and we are going to do everything we can to get you back on your feet.├óΓé¼┬¥
He praised the emergency response on all levels and emphasized the importance of continuing to do whatever is necessary to control the crisis. In regards to his instructions for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the President said:
“Do not figure out why we can’t do something, I want you to figure out how we do something. I want you to cut through red tape. I want you to cut through bureaucracy … I want every agency to lean forward and make sure we’re getting the resources where they’re needed, as quickly as possible.”
Meanwhile, his Republican opponent has been busy dodging questions about FEMA because he has stated on the campaign trail that he’d like to privative disaster relief.
Those comments may come back to bite him in the butt on Election Day, but either way, we’re just glad to see leaders focused on the disaster at hand.
