Bath & Body Works is taking the distributors of the Twilight films to court and it’s all over the name of their products.
The beauty retailer is under attack from Summit Entertainment, who believe B&BW jacked the design and color palate from Twilight promotional items to use on their Twilight Woods products.
But Bath & Body Works says that’s not true and hope a federal court in Manhattan will agree.
The lawsuit claims:
“The term ‘Twilight’ is used so as to evoke the idea of a particular time of day when the sun is just below the horizon, illuminating the landscape. Whereas defendant uses the term ‘Twilight’ to refer to defendant’s teen vampire saga.”
They have a point, but we can see how it could be confusing. We’re sure it hasn’t hurt sales either.
