A Wizard of Oz remake is in the works!

Sources are claiming that Warner Bros. Studios is looking to revamp the classic Judy Garland flick for the new generation. Allegedly, there are two treatments floating around Hollywood at the moment.
The first is in the hands of New Line Cinemas and Temple Hill, one of the producing forces behind Twilight. Their version is simply called Oz and is keeping to a lighter fare with Darren Lemke at the helm of the script. (His last work – Shrek Forever After)
The other treatment is far worse darker and is being handled directly by Warner Bros. This script finds Dorothy’s granddaughter thrust into the not so merrily land of Oz to fight “evil.”
Because somehow the Wicked Witch of the West survived becoming a puddle? Really? This is necessary?
We don’t want to see either of these…EVER!
