Is it really over for Becca Kufrin and Garrett Yrigoyen?
After ample speculation their relationship was on the rocks, the couple who met and got engaged on The Bachelorette in 2018 have reportedly called it quits! A source told E! News the pair simply could not get past the 31-year-old California native’s support for the pro-police “Thin Blue Line” and “Blue Lives Matter” movements, expressed back in June amid nationwide unrest over police brutality against the Black community. Speaking more to the irrevocable rift between the two, as well as other factors which contributed to the split, the source explained:
“Becca is still very upset with Garrett’s comments and the controversy surrounding it. Their lifestyles don’t mesh anymore. Garrett wants different things and they came to a realization that they aren’t compatible anymore.”
Though the two relocated to Carlsbad, California last year, they are “currently living separately.” The insider said that “Garrett is doing a backpacking trip in the wilderness with his buddies and is taking time for himself,” while Becca is said to be living back home in Minnesota (or on location filming The Bachelorette?!) amid their separation:
“They are trying to keep it low-key because they are still working things out, but the relationship is definitely done.”
We can’t say we didn’t see this coming because Becca hinted as much during a June episode of her Bachelor Happy Hour podcast with Rachel Lindsay. While she acknowledged her fiancé was a “good person,” she made it clear she did not “align” or agree with his “tone-deaf” social media post. By the following episode, it seemed the writings were on the wall. At the time, she admitted:
“For those who are curious about my relationship with Garrett at this point, all I can say right now is that I don’t know. I can’t give anything more than that. It’s something that we are trying to work through and discuss and do work on at home at this time and that’s where the work will remain and that’s really the best I can give you at this point.”
Interestingly enough, the pair struggled through a similar controversy early on in their relationship. After walking out of season 14 as an engaged couple, Yrigoyen had to answer for double-tapping on a few old offensive IG posts that make his Thin Blue Line support today look like child’s play. (What is it with this guy?!) It’s hard enough for couples to survive one icky controversy like that, let alone two…
According to E!, neither Becca nor Garrett responded to multiple requests for comment on the split, but that didn’t stop the former Bachelorette lead from sharing her two cents about their report on the ‘gram! Replying to their post, Kufrin shared a SHADY response:
“Lol interesting ‘source.’ I mean if nothing else, the least you could do is spell the names correctly and consistently in your article.”

So, the move here is to neither confirm nor deny the breakup, but instead, give the outlet a spelling lesson. Hmm. Something’s fishy here, isn’t it? Why would she question their “source” when she could just clear this all up herself? Saving the real tea for a new episode of her podcast, maybe? Not a bad idea!
Either way, it appears Yrigoyen has already begun removing the evidence of their relationship online. Eagle-eyed fans noticed he deleted his “Becca Spills” highlight reel on his IG account, which documented their romance from the start. Meanwhile, Kufrin still has a “G cam” highlight on her page and Garrett can be seen in her “Quarantine” collection of snaps. Still, both parties still have pics of each other on their feeds — for now!
