Phew!
Even though David Beckham tore his Achilles’ Tendon and has been seen hobbling around on crutches, the soccer star will continue to play for America’s Major League Soccer (MLS) and will stay with the LA Galaxy for the remainder of his contract.
Becks told David Letterman:
“I will be playing for the Galaxy for the rest of the time now, for the rest of my contract. I’ve always honored my contracts and I’ll do that with the Galaxy. After that, we’ll see what happens, but I’m very happy there. They have always supported me since I signed the contract…The organization has been tremendous with me.”
When asked about the World Cup in South Africa, Becks replied:
“I won’t be playing, but as a supporter and part of the team, the manager’s invited me. I haven’t spoken to him about details but it will be about how my leg will be. I think it [will] be a successful World Cup. I’m a big fan of the country and I’ve always had so many fans from there. I think the organization will be second to none and it will be one of the best World Cups ever.”
Such a gentleman! We’re so happy you’re staying in El Lay, Becks!! Take care of yourself so we can see your hot bod soccer skills on the field again!
