Ice cream giants Ben & Jerry’s came up with a life changing concept with their core flavors, but one of the names caused a stir!
The hazelnut flavor Hazed & Confused drew criticism from some people, namely Lianne and Brian Kowiak whose son died in a hazing incident in 2008.
But the company isn’t changing the name, and it just might make a lot of sense to you!

B&J spokesman Sean Greenwood explained that the marketing hasn’t “condoned hazing, supported hazing, or even inferred hazing,”adding:
“It didn’t make sense for us to change the name. We named it because it’s a pop culture reference.”
The pop culture reference is clearly related to both Led Zeppelin‘s hit Dazed and Confused, along with the 1993 movie of the same name (co-starring a super skeezy, but weirdly hot Matthew McConaughey). And the flavor is hazelnut!!!
So, the company will not change the name, and people will continue to eat the delicious treat!
