Oh, Benedict Cumberbatch. How can this much perfect be in one man?
The Sherlock actor recently spoke with Out Magazine about a plethora of things relating to himself and his upcoming film The Imitation Game.
In the film, Benedict plays Alan Turing, the gay codebreaker in World War II who was found dead later in his life after facing imprisonment or ‘a cure’ for his ‘gross indecency’ with another man.
The prosecution of Alan is an issue that hits close to home for Ben because of the incredibly unfair motives behind such bullying of Alan.

In fact, the actor revealed that he would ‘fight to the death’ with anyone who tried to tell him what to believe in.
He said:
‘People are being beheaded in countries right now because of their beliefs or sexual orientations. It’s terrifying. It’s medieval ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ a beheading! I’d take up arms against someone who was telling me I had to believe in what they believed or they would kill me. I would fight them. I would fight them to the death.
And, I believe, the older you get, you have to have an idea of what’s right or wrong. You can’t have unilateral tolerance. You have to have a point where you go, ├óΓé¼╦£Well, religious fundamentalism is wrong.’
YES! Preach it, Benedict! Don’t let anyone or anything tell you how YOU should feel!
However, this belief is one that has been rooted deeply since he was younger!

Benedict revealed that at his all-boys boarding school there was definitely sexual experimentation, but he didn’t think anything of it!
In fact, he never thought of what the boys were doing as being anything unnatural!
He said:
‘While there was experimentation [at Brambletye], it had never occurred to me as ‘Oh, this is that.’ It was just boys and their penises, the same way with girls and vaginas and boobs. It wasn’t out of a desire.’
What an incredible observation! You go, Benedict!
Keep on being you and saying what’s on your mind! It’s usually pretty spot on!
