Beyoncé's Feminist Values Questioned Once More! Another Singer Isn't Buying It All Just Yet!

The Beygency is going to be pissed – because yet another person has stepped forward to criticize Beyonc├â┬⌐
Or more specifically, her feminist values!
Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox is calling out the XO singer in an article for GLBT website PrideSource, pointing fingers at her recent MTV Video Music Awards vanguard performance.
The 59-year-old argued:

“I would call that ‘feminist lite.’ L-I-T-E. I’m sorry. It’s tokenistic to me. I mean, I think she’s a phenomenal artist├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥I just love her performances├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥but I’d like to sit down [with her]. I think I’d like to sit down with quite a few artists and talk to them. I’d like to listen to them. I’d like to hear what they truly think.”

While we do think it’s a word not everyone fully understands, let us point out that in addition to music, Beyonc├â┬⌐ has openly said feminism and equality are important
So it seems like Miz Lennox needs to do her Beysearch before dragging the Queen into her argument!
Annie also called out other female artists for using the word too freely:

“I see a lot of it as them taking the word hostage and using it to promote themselves, but I don’t think they necessarily represent wholeheartedly the depths of feminism├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥no, I don’t.”

She continued:

“I think for many it’s very convenient and it looks great and it looks radical, but I have some issues with it. I have issues with it. Of course I do. I think it’s a cheap shot. I think what they do with it is cheap. What can I tell you? Sex always sells. And there’s nothing wrong with sex selling, but it depends on your audience. If they’re 7-year-old kids, I have issues with it.”

Well then…
We’d love to see some pop stars respond to Annie’s call to arms.
Although mostly positive, it’s sure to cause some smoke!
