Billy Joel Says His Daughter Was "Never In Any Danger" After Suicide Attempt

At least she’s okay!

Billy Joel told reporters on Saturday night that his daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, is planned to fully recover after attempting to kill herself earlier in the day.

Authorities were alerted to Joel’s suicide attempt on Saturday afternoon when the 23-year-old ingested a almost-deadly quantity of sleeping pills at her Greenwich Village apartment.

She was rushed to St. Vincents hospital, where her father says she was “never in any danger” because she arrived at the hospital soon enough.

Joel is currently with her mother, former model Christie Brinkley, and will be just fine, according to Billy.
