Once again, people do NOT appreciate GOP candidate Rick Perry’s homophobia!
Following a recent town hall in Iowa, 14-year-old bisexual teenager Rebecka Green approached Rick Perry and asked him the following question:
“I just want to know why you├óΓé¼Γäóre so opposed to gays serving openly in the military, why you want to deny them that freedom when they├óΓé¼Γäóre fighting and dying for your right to run for president.”
Here’s what Rick had to say in response:
“Here├óΓé¼Γäós my issue. This is about my faith, and I happen to think, you know, there are a whole hosts of sins. Homosexuality being one of them, and I├óΓé¼Γäóm a sinner and so I├óΓé¼Γäóm not going to be the first one to throw a stone. I don├óΓé¼Γäót agree that openly gays should be serving in the military. ‘Don├óΓé¼Γäót Ask, Don├óΓé¼Γäót Tell’ was working and my position is just like I told a guy yesterday, he said, ‘How would you feel if one of your children was gay?’ I said I├óΓé¼Γäód feel the same way.”
“I hate the sin, but I love the sinner, but having them openly serve in the military, I happen to think as a commander in chief of some 20,000 plus people in the military is not good public policy, and this president was forced by his base to change that policy and I don├óΓé¼Γäót think it was good policy, and I don├óΓé¼Γäót think people in the military thought it was good policy.”
And here’s what Rebecka had to say following her interaction with Rick Perry:
“I’m openly bisexual and I don├óΓé¼Γäót want to be told that if I wanted to serve in the military that I couldn├óΓé¼Γäót, and I just think that policy is completely ridiculous that he thinks that. I just don├óΓé¼Γäót like it. Him or nobody should be able to tell somebody who they can or can├óΓé¼Γäót love.”
We wholeheartedly agree with U, Rebecka! We’re sorry that U had to hear such ignorance and hate coming from that despicable man’s mouth!
EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL!
