Blac Chyna Is Charging Fans Almost $1K For A FaceTime Call & $250 For A Follow-Back: It's 'Economic Necessity'

Blac Chyna has a new business venture, charging people nearly $1,000 for a FaceTime call!

If you want to talk to Blac Chyna on FaceTime or get her to follow you back on Instagram, it’s going to cost you some coin!!!

The 31-year-old momma has apparently just figured out a new, ummm, business venture, in which she charges fans $950 (!) for a one-time FaceTime call. Those who just want the IG follow-back can pay $250, according to her business website Lashed Cosmetics. WTF?!

We’ve seen celebs monetize fan interactions before, of course; forever now, popular actors have made money signing photos at conventions and trade shows across the country. Even with new technology, there are platforms like Cameo and Starsona out there connecting fans with their favorite stars for affordable rates!

The Business Model

But Dream Kardashian‘s momma appears to have taken things a step or two further with this new idea! If you’ve got nearly a thousand bucks, well, you can have yourself a face-to-face call with Chyna!! It’s unclear how long the call lasts, or what fans can expect when it goes down; they’re simply instructed to leave their phone number in the comments section of their order when they make the purchase.

And then there’s the $250 Instagram follow-back… though her website does note you must “allow 24-48 hours for her to follow back” after purchase. You know, it’s probably taking her team a while to get through all the requests! Ha!

Rob Kardashian‘s estranged ex-fiancée really thought of everything, too; if you can’t drop a one-time payment for either of those services, she’s offering a four-installment plan (interest-free, too!) for each one. Just make four payments of $237 for the FaceTime call, or drop four installments of $62.50 to settle your debts on the IG follow-back. What recession?!

Seriously, though, it kind of makes us wonder: is this the dystopian future of celeb interaction on social media?! Sure, monetizing stuff like this isn’t for every star, but let’s not kid ourselves — Chyna definitely isn’t the only high-profile figure who sees this idea and realizes it could make them some easy money. If you’ve got a big enough audience with disposable income…

Chyna’s Team Explains It All

The embattled reality TV star’s lawyer even went so far as to give a statement to People about the new business venture, clarifying some things about it and adding:

“Yes, Blac Chyna is connecting more directly and creatively with her fans via FaceTime and Instagram follow backs during the COVID-19 pandemic! Like the true entrepreneur she is, Chyna is adapting to current realities and trying to bring more fun and joy to quarantine life. Chyna’s quarantine-related creativity is also born out of economic necessity. Despite many false media reports to the contrary, Chyna receives no child support from either Rob Kardashian or Tyga for her two beautiful children, Dream Kardashian and King Cairo Stevenson.”

Uh-oh. This is about the custody battle, isn’t it?

The statement went on from there:

“To make matters worse, Rob and his family have filed false accusations that Chyna is an unfit mother and are trying to take away Chyna’s custody of her precious daughter, Dream.  Chyna will continue to fight these false claims in court to keep custody of Dream, especially after Dream was severely burned twice at Rob’s house. But these unwarranted custody battles are not cheap — and unlike a certain allegedly ‘self-made’ billionaire in Rob’s family, Chyna is truly a self-made single mom who must keep finding unique ways to connect with her fans during this unprecedented global pandemic. Chyna looks forward to FaceTiming with her ‘Chyna Doll’ fans from around the world and to following fans on IG who want to share their lives with her!”

Ackkk!! IT’S A TRAP!

What started out as an innocent statement about monetizing social media interactions morphed into a commentary about the economy during a global pandemic AND a straight-up call-out of the contentious custody situation involving Rob and his famous fam.

Well played, Chyna’s lawyer… well played, indeed… LOLz!!!

Fans React…

As you’d expect, the fan reaction on social media to Chyna’s new line of income was heavy on the criticism but somewhat mixed. There were plenty of negative reactions out there, to be sure, like the Twitter user who simply laughed off the prices:

“Lmaooo Blac Chyna really charging $950 for a FaceTime call an $250 for a follow back!”

Another added:

Whoever paying $950 to FaceTime blac chyna needs to have all their money taken away”

And a third person hilariously tweeted this:

“imagine f**king up your credit score cause you didn’t finish your payments for a blac chyna facetime”

LOLz!!!

There were those that came to her defense, though, like this user who made a good point about the inevitability of famous people realizing this is even possible:

“I just don’t see why everyone is judging Blac Chyna for charging people for FaceTime sessions and to have her follow them. She’s using her fame to make coins and I’m not mad”

Finally, one user was really just concerned about what exactly would go down on any FaceTime call with the celeb:

“PLEASE tell me what kind of conversation you’re going to have with blac chyna”

We’re wondering the same thing!!!

Are y’all gonna talk about the coronavirus? Sports? The weather?! The presidential election?? WHAT?!

What Do U Think??

Honestly, we can’t even hate Chyna for trying to make money like this. It’s kinda crazy, no doubt, and the rates are off the charts, but a grind is a grind, and a hustle is a hustle! If there are people out there willing to pay that, then more power to them, and more power to Chyna!!

Or Tori Spelling, who recently had her husband come to her defense over her virtual meet-and-greet, which costs only a tenth of what Chyna is charging!

Tough to call out a celeb for monetizing social media interactions. Will this be the future of celeb-driven social media, anyway? Like, what’s next? Will the stars of Tiger King start charging $500 to “like” your tweets?! Sounds crazy… but we’re just saying!!

What do y’all think about this new biz venture for Blac Chyna, Perezcious readers?! Sound OFF on the whole thing down in the comments (below)…
